１９９９年８月１４日。神奈川県足柄土郡山北町の玄倉川にて、中州でキャンプをしていた横浜市内の廃棄物処理会社に勤める社員達とその家族、および婚約者とガールフレンドを含む２５名のうち１８名が、翌日の熱帯低気圧の発生による大雨で増水した川に流され、社員５名と妻２名、１～９歳の子供４名、連れの女性２名の合計１３名が死亡した事故である。
